Nuts about Clams!

Clam Sauce Almondo

This is yummy, delicious and different.  If you have never tried clam sauce or think you might not like it–if you like clam chowder you would like this–give this recipe a try.  It is deliciously different and remarkably low cost.

Ingredients

1 cup toasted almond slivers
3-8 ounce cans minced clams
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 large minced onion
2 cloves pressed garlic
2-15 ounce cans chunky tomato sauce
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon sugar
salt and pepper
1 pound package fetuccini

Directions

Saute onions and garlic in olive oil. Add drained clams, lightly brown. In saucepan, combine tomato sauce, and spices. Simmer 30 minutes. Add clams, onion and garlic. Simmer 10 minutes more. Prepare fetuccini according to package directions. Pour sauce over fetuccini. Sprinkle with almonds!
